Create Emotion in your Posts with Emoji’s 😊😍😁

Emojis have become an integral part of how we communicate on social. Not only is the Emoji library continually growing, there are platform-specific emojis, branded emojis and event based emojis appearing all the time as well.

Emoji’s as a Marketing Tool

The little yellow faces once strictly reserved for instant messaging, are now finding their way into every area of our online lives. With Emoji supported and made easily accessible on every major social network they are being sent at astronomical rates, with an average of 60 million emoji’s being sent each day on Facebook alone. It was only a matter of time before their use would transfer into other areas.

Marketers have embraced the little yellow guys to allowing them to achieve their social media marketing goals, but how? It’s never been more important for Brands to stand out from the crowd and be noticed, but perhaps more importantly brands want to create emotion with their posts.

An Example with a 😊

To highlight the difference emoji’s can have on a post we have created a simple post. The first is an Emoji free zone, which as you can see is a little empty and bland. Not only does it not really give an idea of the posters emotion about the content, it also might give the impression that not a lot of thought has gone into the message.

The second uses them respectfully and intelligently to get across the emotion that the content is creating. This subtle difference takes no time at all and can have a huge impact on the engagement rate of posts. According to industry statistics, posts that didn’t include emojis had an engagement rate of around 1.7%. Whilst, in contract, the engagement rate on those including emojis sat at around 2.1%.
